Frequently Asked Questions
Assessments
Treatment
A: We provide adult ADHD assessments exclusively through telehealth.
The assessment process involves a thorough clinical interview and the use of evidence-based diagnostic tools. We examine your current symptoms alongside historical indicators from childhood to provide an accurate diagnostic picture.
A: We only assess adults, sorry, no children or teenagers!
A: A GP referral is not required for the assessment to access services directly with us as a private patient. However, we recommend discussing your concerns with a GP if you plan to explore pharmacological treatment or ongoing medication management options following a formal diagnosis.
A: Unfortunately, there is no Medicare rebate available for our assessment services. Clients under the age of 25 may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for an assessment if referred by a paediatrician or psychiatrist.
You are able to claim a Medicare rebate for treatment sessions (see treatment FAQ for further information).
A: The reports are not suitable for NDIS applications.
A: Psychologists are not able to prescribe medication. Psychological assessments can provide a deeper understanding of a person’s experiences and inform strategies tailored to them. If you are seeking medication, it may be beneficial to consult a psychiatrist directly or follow up with a psychiatrist after completing an assessment.
If a diagnosis is confirmed, we offer tailored psychology sessions focused on executive functioning coaching, practical strategies, and emotional regulation. Our goal is to help you build sustainable habits and a lifestyle that truly supports your unique profile and personal strengths.
