A Collaborative Pathway to Understanding

At MSP, we designed our adult ADHD assessment process to offer meaningful insights into individual neurodiversity in a supportive and respectful environment. Grounded in curiosity and collaboration, we understand the complexities of ADHD in adults and tailor each assessment to reflect your unique experiences and needs. Our focus is on understanding your brain, without judgment.

Considering if an assessment is right for you?

Many adults seek an ADHD diagnostic assessment after years of coping, compensating, and questioning themselves. At MSP, we conduct ADHD assessments with an understanding of how ADHD can present subtly, especially in adults who have learned to mask or internalise their difficulties. Our assessments are designed to recognise internalised, high-masking, and late-identified presentations.

This service might be helpful if you:

Have always managed your challenges, but at significant personal cost.

Experience chronic stress, fatigue, or burnout without a clear explanation.

Have wondered whether ADHD could explain long-standing patterns in your life.

Feel mentally busy, overwhelmed, or constantly self-monitoring.

Have been described as “capable,” “anxious,” or “sensitive” rather than struggling.

Are interested in gaining a better understanding of yourself and your experiences.

What to expect

Your ADHD assessment with MSP is designed to be supportive, thorough, and tailored to your individual needs. While everyone's journey is unique, the process typically includes the following collaborative steps:

Initial Consultation

This initial collaborative discussion is held in a relaxed and supportive space. We focus on understanding your history, current concerns, and individual experiences. This session allows us to explore whether a full ADHD assessment is appropriate and helps us tailor the process to your specific needs.

Questionnaires

After the initial consultation, you will receive standardised questionnaires via email to complete at your own pace. These tools help provide a comprehensive picture of your strengths and challenges. We may also invite a family member/partner or trusted person to provide their observations to build a richer developmental history.

Assessment Appointment

A space to discuss your strengths, coping strategies, and internal experiences in a non-judgmental environment. A structured interview (DIVA-5) will be used to evaluate symptoms of ADHD from childhood and adulthood.

Feedback Session

This session focuses on providing clarity, understanding, and practical guidance. The assessment findings will be discussed, along with any diagnosis (if applicable) and next steps.

Report or Letter

A comprehensive diagnostic report or summary letter detailing the findings and professional recommendations. This document is designed to be a useful tool for your future, providing a clear explanation of your neurotype and suggesting specific adjustments or supports to help you thrive.

The entire assessment process usually spans 3 to 5 appointments, with each session lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Marlese’s goal is to ensure that the process is manageable, supportive, and provides meaningful insights at every stage of your journey.
